JACOBEAN FLORALS
JACOBEAN FLORALS
Pattern Curator Notes
For Fall/ Winter 19/20, seeing a resurgence of jacobean florals that are traditional in artwork from, but it’s the application and color combos that are making this new. Though this is folk floral motif that is steady year after year, it’s the end use that is different. Lighter weight fabrics, overly large scale or ditsy-like layouts. Traditionally jacobean was known as an embroidery pattern from old Europe. Through time we have seen this shift into printed textiles and wallpaper and now we are seeing this appear as a staple print to have for the fall seasons. Particularly this 19/20, it’s not the print alone that makes the statement it’s how its worn and what its worn with.
